All of the wood used by New River Furniture
Company is kiln-dried at our kilns located adjacent to our factory.
We use Brazilian Maple for our indoor products because of the beautiful, smooth
finish that can be achieved with this wood. We carefully hand-sand and
hand-finish all of our indoor products providing for an exquisitely luxurious
feel to the touch.
Our Brazilian Cherry used in our outdoor collection is 235 % stronger than teak.
Because of the incredible strength and durability of this wood, all of our
Brazilian Cherry products can be used directly outdoors and are warranted
against defects in materials and craftsmanship. Brazilian Cherry has weathering
characteristics similar to teak while maintaining outstanding structural

Hardware used By New River Furniture Company for all of our outdoor products is
manufactured specifically for outdoor use and resists rust and corrosion.
We use mortise & tenon construction and glue that is not water-soluble. We cut
our slats to shape as opposed to bending to shape. The results achieved by using
these materials and construction techniques are evident. We offer you, quite
simply, the best value in wooden furniture, period.
What is Brazilian Cherry?
Brazilian Cherry is a very popular species of wood known for its inherent
beauty, rich coloring, and superior hardness. Also known as Jatoba, it is a
dense wood very resistant to moisture and humidity. Brazilian Cherry is 228% as
hard as red oak and 235% as hard as teak. This wood grows plentifully in Brazil,
Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela, Suriname, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, and the
Caribbean. The unique properties of this wood allow for its use outdoors while
simultaneously providing a beautiful finish. Brazilian Cherry is ideally suited
for use in our outdoor endurance line of products.
What is Brazilian Maple?
Also known as Guatambu or Pau marfim, our Brazilian maple originates in
Paraguay. Brazilian Maple is a wonderful choice for our indoor collection.
Brazilian Maple has a straight, dense grain with fine, uniform texture. It is
very strong and has an excellent resistance to wear and tear. The best quality
of this wood is its ability to receive an outstanding finish. Brazilian Maple
produces one of the most luxurious finishes possible for wood furniture.
